A story still being written.

I’m Josh Rulnick, a husband, father, runner, author, and business owner from the Pittsburgh area.

I’m building a life around the people I love and the belief that we should leave people better than we found them. Some days, that means showing up for my family. Others, it means helping someone through a hard moment or sharing something I’m still learning myself.

My mother was my sounding board, the person I wanted to call with good news, hard questions, and the ordinary details of my day. Losing her to cancer changed my life. I still have moments I wish I could share with her.

During her cancer journey, we wrote messages and reflections that became 365 Days of a Warrior. Those words hold our love, our difficult days, and the encouragement we gave each other along the way. Sharing them is one way I can carry her voice forward.

Running has become another part of that journey. It gives me space to feel, reflect, and find clarity. It reminds me that I can take another step, even when I don’t have everything figured out.

As I began sharing more openly, people reached out with their own stories of loss, their first runs, and the small ways they were beginning again. Those conversations gave this work a purpose beyond my own experience.

That’s why I’m here: to share honestly, keep learning, and help someone else feel less alone.

There is grief in my story. There is also family, laughter, ambition, and so much life I still want to experience.

I’m learning how to hold all of it and keep going.
